A National Story: NTTC Helps Commercialize New Chemical-Detection Technology to Protect Nation's First Responders

WHEELING, W.Va. - America's front-line emergency responders will soon have the HazMat Smart-Strip, a cost-effective chemical-detection "warning badge" as part of their standard gear, thanks to assistance from the National Technology Transfer Center's Emergency Response Technology Program. Safety Solutions Inc. in Boynton Beach, Fla., developed the HazMat Smart-Strip to assist fire, emergency medical, law enforcement, HazMat and military personnel in detecting hazardous chemicals.
